Since 2003, the Lake George Community Band has provided the community with musical programs throughout the year. Its home venue is the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains at the Shepard Park Amphitheater on beautiful Lake George, Queen of the American Lakes. Preserving the tradition of the American Concert Band, it provides local musicians an opportunity to play their instruments in a setting of camaraderie and community, while exposing a vast audience, including many vacationers each year, to concert band music reminiscent of turn-of-the-century concerts in the park.

Annual performances include indoor venues at the Wood Theatre in downtown Glens Falls, the Lake George High School, and a Summer Concert Series in Shepard Park. LGCB also hosts and Annual Festival of Community Bands, which draws regional community bands from all over the northeast United States and Canada.

The LGCB passionately supports the musical education of our children and our local school music programs. Funds we receive help us to

purchase music that keeps our repertoire fresh, and available for local schools to borrow.
provide advanced students the opportunity to perform with experienced, mentoring musicians throughout the year, and during our “Music in Our Schools Concert” in March.
provide funds to assist local school music programs.
help with maintenance and repair cost on borrowed school instruments; purchase of instruments for members to use.
host an Annual Festival of Community Bands, which draw nearly 5,000 people coming from 101 different zipcodes and 14 different countries.
